That evening, Jeremiah and Steven find Conrad talking to Belly outside, as they're ready to leave for the bonfire. Jeremiah is happy Belly is at the bonfire party. Laurel doesn't think she would like it, though Belly agrees to think about it. Steven laughs at the idea of Belly being mature - citing a cat funeral for reference of her immaturity. Laurel balks at the archaic dream, but it's more about networking, getting leadership skills, and benefitting charity. Girls come from all over and it's a good place for Belly to meet new friends. It's when a girl comes of age and is presented to society: an event that's more fun that it sounds. Susannah gives Belly a surprise an invitation to the debutante ball. He doesn't have any other plans for the summer, refusing Steven's suggestion to work at the country club with him and Jere. Conrad isn't phased as he was just going to sit on the bench all season and isn't changing his mind about quitting, either. Jeremiah reveals that Conrad quit football, shocking the Conklin-Park family. The boys joke about their physiques until Steven asks Conrad when he leaves for training camp. Laurel critiques Steven for being on his phone as she wants a screen-free zone. Jeremiah shoots Steven's phone into the basket. They race to the ocean and jump into the water, playing together happily. Her father is dating someone, has a beard, and is coming up for the Fourth. They head to the beach as she catches him up on her parents situation, including their divorce. He wants to go for a swim with her as he's waited all day for her to come so they can to go into the ocean together. She pulls him into the pool with her, making Jeremiah laugh.Īfter drying off, Belly brings her stuff to her room and admires her bear, Junior Mint, which Jeremiah is surprised she still has. She feigns a sprained ankle to trick Conrad into helping her. The boys chase Belly until the grab her, carry her to the pool, and throw her in. He catches up with Steven before declaring it's time for a Belly flop. Belly's grown-up appearance surprises him but he scoops her up and spins her around anyway. The family arrives at the beach house and Jeremiah Fisher embraces Steven. Jeremiah patiently awaits the arrival of Laurel, Steven, and Belly for their latest Summer at Cousins Beach. Throughout The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 1 Laurel blamed the neighbor's cat for the incident. On Belly's fifteenth summer, a drunk Jeremiah and Conrad dared an also drunk Steven to pee in the fireplace which stunk up the house for days. Jeremiah got back him when he peed in Conrad's lunchbox. Jere wanted straight hair so he never touched the sandwiches, so Conrad finished them off. Conrad, whose sandwich making skills were PB&J at best, convinced Jeremiah that crust made his hair grow curly. One year when Jeremiah was little, he made amazing sandwiches. Jeremiah was always the fun, playful, and energetic kid getting into mischief and convincing others to join him in his mischief. The pair grew up in New York but visited Cousins Beach every Summer with their moms best friend Laurel Park and her two kids, Steven and Belly. Jeremiah is the youngest child of Susannah and Adam Fisher, and the younger brother of Conrad.
